Applying a vinyl wall decal takes a little patience but no special skills. Every order includes printed instructions, transfer tape and an application tool.
Video tutorial: watch on YouTube
Before you start
- Use a smooth, clean and dry surface: painted walls, glass, mirrors, metal or finished wood.
- Freshly painted walls need 3 to 4 weeks to cure before applying.
- Heavily textured walls and some washable or low VOC paints are not suitable.
- Apply at room temperature, not in direct sun.
Step by step
- Lay the decal flat and rub firmly over the transfer tape with the application tool.
- Position the decal on the wall with masking tape and check it is level.
- Peel the backing paper slowly at a sharp angle, keeping the vinyl on the transfer tape.
- Press the decal onto the wall from the centre outwards with the tool.
- Peel the transfer tape slowly, folding it back flat against the wall. If a letter lifts, press it down again and continue.
Removing
Warm the vinyl gently with a hair dryer and peel it slowly. On suitable surfaces it comes off without damaging the paint. Decals cannot be reused once applied.
